Where in the world is Rob Pero?

For those that think they saw me hanging around Downtown New London on Thursday August 4, 2011,in the middle of teh afternoon, just get over it! The fact is I am a State Employee and I have no real supervision. You will never know if I am supposed to be at work or not. I come and go as I please. You the taxpayer gets to pay for it all.

Simply put:

I DO WHAT I WANT!

EYES WIDE SHUT!

Rob finally takes the blinders off, looks at the issue and votes for safe city initiatives.

Did Rob do this to help his chances to become strong mayor or does he now care about a safe New London for all of us? Maybe he is getting some coaching that was discussed in an earlier post. His image needs some improvement. Afterall he did even show up at the Riverside Park clean up although he voted to sell part of the park.

If it was about a safe New London why did he vote to send it back to committee two weeks ago?

Did anyone notice that Rob never looks directly at anyone! Ever wonder why?

Take a look at the link you will notice on Rob's Website that the Whale has no eye. Is that an indication that Rob will blindly chase after more rainbows? Or is it an indication that with continued republican leadership New London will not look forward? Or maybe there is an eye and he just cannot look you in the eye while telling these tall tales.

http://newlondon.patch.com/articles/finance-committee-chips-away-at-budget

Rank N' File Rob and Boy Wonder Sprecace look to reward management employees with big raises while the city demands givebacks and concessions from the union workers in New London. This is how they will get to a zero budget increase on the backs of the working people of New London.
Does it has to be that way because there are more of the working people?

PUTTING PEOPLE FIRST, true just a few people but still people!

I am the one who is registering new republicans every day in this city!
http://theday.com/article/20110415/NWS01/304159900/1019&town=

Exactly who does Lori Hopkins-Cavanagh think she is? This is my race for Mayor of New London and no one else should be interfering with this! This is the master plan. How can I win as a republican if other republicans keep sticking their noses into my race for Mayor of New London? And to think I even appointed her to commission positions. She did not even show up for meetings. She will not show up if elected Mayor.

Did everyone catch me on the Lee Elci show today?

Flip-Flop Rob flips again. Rob Pero killed the responsible contractor's ordinance in New London with the assistance of ABC just over a year ago and now it must be payback time. ABC wants Rob and the taxpayers to pay up and fund a program with ABC. A program that trains workers, that is exactly what the program that Rob worked so hard to kill did.

How can a union worker be so anti union?

After watching Mr. Pero on the tube last night as he squirmed at the council meeting it would seem he is doomed as a viable candidate.

The only hope is some help. Perhaps a "Theatrical Consultant" or an "Acting Coach" would be a good move. The people of New London will not elect the current Rob Pero.

Please Rob get some help hire a consultant that can fix your image.

Go to the campaign site. Look at the issues page and see all the videos. Do not ask why the city council meeting videos are not linked. It is simple, the council meetings show the candidate in a forum that he cannot control. They show the real candidate.

What the hell were you thinking?

How much worse can it get? The Republican Town Committee Chair is the campaign manager for Mr. Rob Pero's attempt to be the mayor of New London. That pretty much says it all. The Republican Town Committee Chair has effectively locked out all other republicans from the possibility of being nominated. Sound familiar, town committee members locking out others in the party. The democrats will reap the benefit of these antics as republicans on or near the fence become supporters of a democratic candidate.

Well said Gary:

Gary G. 06320 Posted - February 28, 2011 03:04 PM
I want to make sure that I have the whole picture here. Rob Pero is a state union worker, Rob Pero's father worked for the city, Rob Pero's wife works as a union teacher, Rob Pero's brother is a union police officer in New London, Rob Pero's other brother worked for the New London Public Works Department as a union member, Rob Pero's brother in law works for ocean beach, not a public enterprise but it once was. All this I gathered just searching Rob Pero on the Day website.

The picture shows an entire family that is now or has been employed in the public sector, most in union jobs with union negotiated benefits and pay. They have all reaped the benefits of those before them that have stood up for each other in tough times. But Rob Pero does not stand up for the very organization that he benefits from, organized labor. They have all cashed those union negotiated paychecks and used those union negotiated benefits.

How is it that Rob Pero can be so anti union when it is the union that made sure his family has been so well cared for? This type of leaching has to end.

How the interview would have gone!

Moderator:  Rob what do you see as your strongest trait qualifying for Mayor?
Rob Pero:  I love New London, I really think I should be the mayor.
Moderator:  Rob do you think that is enough?
Rob Pero:  Why not!
Moderator: Rob on the blog spot I read something about your building success using OPM.  Can you explain to all the voters just what OPM is? I have never heard of that.
Rob Pero: OPM is a concept that I developed early in my political career. OPM is Other People’s Money. It is simple, when you use other people’s money you have nothing on the line and you can put the weight on the rest of the community. This way I risk nothing. Tell me that does not make sense to you.
Moderator:  Rob you have come up with a lot of ideas on the council lately that will cost the New London taxpayers money. Do you find that to be prudent in this economy?
Rob Pero:  I am not a prude at all. I like to spend other people’s money of these ideas I come up with. I gain support and hopefully votes of the people that benefit and I have nothing at risk. It is what they call a win, win in politics. Is this your first political interview? You do not seem to understand how this all works.
Moderator:  Rob Prudent and Prude are not interchangeable terms. This is not my first political interview.
Rob Pero:  I thought that since the words had the same first 5 letters that the words had similar meaning. My bad.
Moderator:  Rob what campaigning strategy do you think works best and what will you do to win over the voters?
Rob Pero:  I have found that taking my youngest child with me in either a stroller or carrying them works best. Most voters have no idea what is going on in the city anyway. Most voters do not know who I am or what I voted for or why. Most do not know what eminent domain is or that I voted for it. These voters only know I am the guy with the baby that came to their door looking all nice and a family oriented. It is kind of like dressing up for Halloween. When they get into the voting booth they pick me more often than not.  It is the costume that they remember.  They just vote for me because of the baby thing. When the kid outgrows the stroller I may lose some votes.

Ladies and Gentlemen it seems we now have a horse race.

Mike Buscetto a long time benefactor to the New London Community has put himself in the starting gate for this race.

It will be a race between the self proclaimed King of New London and the long time benefactor of New London.

New London City Councilor Rob Pero's formal announcement to run for mayor, scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight at the Gallery at Firehouse Square, is postponed to Feb.15.

If he is elected will he be a fair weather mayor as well? This is the second cancellation!
